Langley is the fastest growing community in the region, and deserves to have its voice heard in Victoria and Ottawa.  That's why the Langley Chamber advocates strongly for Langley to have the right representation in government.

• Langley Chamber Win - 3rd Riding for Langley in BC Elections Going Forward 
  • The Langley Chamber pushed for Langley to receive a 3rd MLA in the provincial government to ensure our voice is heard within government.  The Langley Chamber presented live to the BC Electoral Boundaries Commission to push for this, which was granted later that autumn.

In light of 40-year high inflation and soaring fuel costs, the Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce called on the provincial and federal governments to take immediate action on high fuel prices by suspending various fuel taxes in an effort to help businesses and families facing persistent inflation.

• Langley Chamber Calls for 30 cents/litre Cut In Gas Taxes 
  • Fuel prices in the Lower Mainland averaged over $2.10 per litre for gasoline in mid-2022.  Of that price, the federal excise tax represents 10 cents/litre and the provincial non-Translink motor fuel tax is 8.5 cents/litre, with the 5% GST then applied to the after-tax price at the pump. The Langley Chamber estimates that at current prices these three taxes cost consumers 29.5 cents per litre and suspending them specifically would save nearly $15 per fill-up for the average family car.
