I’m Tamara Jansen, a former Member of Parliament for Cloverdale-Langley City. As a mom, grandma, and community advocate, I’m passionate about standing up for families and bringing common-sense solutions to Ottawa. I believe in lower taxes, safer streets, and a community where all are welcome.
What are your top two issues you’ll bring to Ottawa and fight for (100 words or less)?
The rising cost of living and public safety are at the top of my list. Families are struggling to make ends meet, and I’ll fight for lower taxes, affordable housing, and a responsible economic plan. I’ll also push for stronger laws to keep dangerous offenders off our streets, so families and businesses feel safe again.
This riding includes two of BC’s fastest-growing communities. How will you work in Ottawa to ensure Cloverdale-Langley City gets the supports, investments, and infrastructure a fast-growing community needs? (100 words or less)?
Cloverdale-Langley City needs the federal government to get out of the way, cut taxes and incentivize the removal of regulatory burdens that slow down the permitting and building of new and affordable homes.
Crime and public safety are top concerns of our businesses and residents. What are your thoughts on addressing these challenges in Cloverdale-Langley City? (100 words or less)?
Crime has become a serious concern, and it’s time for action. I’ll fight for tougher sentencing for repeat offenders and support police with the resources they need to keep our neighborhoods safe. Community safety is non-negotiable, and I’ll prioritize programs that prevent crime and support victims.
How will you support economic growth and opportunity for Cloverdale-Langley business owners, professionals, and families? (100 words or less)?
Small businesses are the backbone of our community. I’ll advocate for tax cuts, less red tape, and policies that let entrepreneurs focus on growth instead of paperwork. By supporting skilled trades, tech innovation, and local businesses, we can create jobs and keep our economy strong for families and professionals alike.
In closing, why should people vote for you? (100 words or less)?
I’m running to bring common-sense solutions back to Ottawa. I’ve walked the halls of Parliament, and I know what it takes to get things done. I’ll stand up for families, seniors, and small businesses, always putting our community first. Together, we can make Cloverdale-Langley City a safer, stronger, and more affordable place to live.

A Google search will call me “politician” but I’m more than that; a husband, father, volunteer, coach, and longtime defender of liberty. I manage a busy Meat Department within the riding’s boundaries, plus play and coach hockey at arenas around town, so I have a real connection to the community
What are your top two issues you’ll bring to Ottawa and fight for (100 words or less)?
With the cost of living constantly rising, it’s time to take drastic action.
I want to eliminate the Income Tax, allowing all Canadians to keep 100 precent of the fruits of their labour. As well, I’d advocate for the removal of the Carbon Tax.
We also need to end inflation. Fractional Reserve Lending allows banks to create funds out of thin air. The government must legislate this practice out of existence to protect the purchasing power of Canadians. Between that, and the Bank of Canada financing the federal government’s ongoing deficit spending, Canadians’ purchasing power is constantly being decimated by inflation.
This riding borders two of BC’s fastest-growing communities. How will you work in Ottawa to ensure Cloverdale-Langley City gets the supports, investments, and infrastructure a fast-growing community needs? (100 words or less)
The most important role of an MP should not be standing cap-in-hand in Parliament and beg for handouts. The Cloverdale-Langley City representative ought to spend their energy advocating removal of suffocating regulations and hurdles put in place by the government. Overregulation reduces job creation and dampers our economic growth. When cities are not hindered and local economies as set free to flourish, then interest groups are better positioned to reinvest in their communities.
Crime and public safety are top concerns of our businesses and residents. What are your thoughts on addressing these challenges in Cloverdale-Langley City? (100 words or less)?
Many of the concerns are surrounding the tent cities that keep springing up in our communities.
The solution to the homelessness epidemic is two-fold. We must increase our housing supply to drive down the cost housing. And by ending the War on Drugs addicts can obtain support without fear of prosecution.
Having said that, there are vagrants that prefer that lifestyle and will continue to be a safety concern. It is in this instance that police and the legal system must step up and enforce the rules we already have on the books, including trespassing, public intoxication, and theft.
How will you support economic growth and opportunity for Cloverdale-Langley business owners, professionals, and families? (100 words or less)?
The Libertarian Party of Canada is advocating for the best support of all – ending the federal Income Tax. By allowing the business owners to keep all their profits they’d save up to 38% and could be reinvested into their business any way they see fit. Alternatively, businesses groups (CoC, BIA, etc.) can leverage their members to invest in large community projects.
Any supports other candidates suggest are redundant if they would require first collecting taxes from the business, sending the money to Ottawa, and then needing a politician to repatriate a sliver.
It’s time to supercharge the economy. End the income tax.
In closing, why should people vote for you? (100 words or less)?
A vote for Alex Joehl is sending a message to Ottawa.
A vote for the Libertarian Party of Canada is telling people that you do not support the status quo.
Voting for me would put the banks on notice: Canada no longer supports the destruction of their money. Through Fractional Reserve Lending the banks flood our money supply, water down our money, and decrease our purchasing power, and all for their own profit.
Selecting Alex Joehl means you want a smaller government.
Mark an X next to my name on or before December 16.
Be part of a revolution.

I currently work full time as a supervisor in an industrial setting, and am working during this election, especially as it is getting more and more difficult to survive. I was raised in South Surrey and currently live in Sullivan Heights in this beautiful riding.
What are your top two issues you’ll bring to Ottawa and fight for (100 words or less)?
Accountability and transparency. For too long we have not held the government accountable for their actions and especially their financial policies. As the government spends more and more, Canadian citizens are stuck with the bill via inflation and higher interest rates. Career politicians need to be held accountable for their broken promises and lies as they have not needed to be accountable since they keep on getting elected. I promise to be transparent, by talking to the community as best as I can, discussing upcoming bills and issues as our riding deserves.
This riding includes two of BC’s fastest-growing communities. How will you work in Ottawa to ensure Cloverdale-Langley City gets the supports, investments, and infrastructure a fast-growing community needs? (100 words or less)?
Our current mass immigration policies are destroying the fabric of our communities. These policies have led to our fast-growing community that has not had time to catch up with the support and infrastructure needed. Cooling down immigration will help our communities catch up in housing, health care, social programs and infrastructure. I do not believe that more money is the answer to our problems, if it was it would have been solved by now with the reckless spending the current government has been doing. Immigration needs to work for Canadians.
Crime and public safety are top concerns of our businesses and residents. What are your thoughts on addressing these challenges in Cloverdale-Langley City? (100 words or less)?
I believe in strong borders that will help keep gangs, illegal drugs (like fentanyl) and weapons out of Canada. We need to work with the provinces to keep money laundering and other gang activities down to nothing and keep violent criminals in jail. The PPC believes in the right to self defence, people should not go to jail for defending their homes from intruders and allow pepper spray for self defence, especially for women. We need to improve transparency in the process to pick judges while still sticking with the Canadian Constitution. A more prosperous Canada would help as well.
How will you support economic growth and opportunity for Cloverdale-Langley business owners, professionals, and families? (100 words or less)?
On a federal level, we need to get our spending under control and balance the budget which can be done easily through fiscal prudence and a small government. After balancing the budget, we can start lowering income taxes, corporate taxes and gradually abolish capital gains tax. We need to make taxes simpler and fairer, eliminating the complex measures that to do not serve any purpose, creating a system that is fairer for small business’ that are essential for our communities. We need to stop all corporate subsidies that help prop up big business’ but has no real value to communities.
In closing, why should people vote for you? (100 words or less)?
This a great opportunity to shake up Ottawa. Nothing will change with another Conservative or Liberal MP representing our riding. In contrast, one PPC MP can do a lot to raise issues that the others will not touch because they are afraid of not getting elected. With the general election coming up, this is a risk free opportunity to put Cloverdale-Langley City on the political map with the first PPC MP as you can just vote me out within the year if you disagree with my actions. Canadians deserve action, not more baseless or wasted promises.

I am a retired professional engineer. I ran my own consulting business for 25 years offering design services to heavy equipment manufacturers. I have lived in Cloverdale for 23 years.
What are your top two issues you’ll bring to Ottawa and fight for (100 words or less)?
The citizens of Cloverdale-Langley City have signaled that their main concern is the high cost of living. The sky-high cost of housing is a major contributor and traditional parties have failed to deliver relief. Both the Liberals and the Conservatives have relied on developers to build the housing stock necessary to stabilize prices. This has never happened and it never will. Only the Green Party recognizes that the federal government needs to build out non-market social housing aggressively. The Green Party is the only party that takes climate change seriously and has policies to mitigate the damage. We believe future... (edited to fit length restrictions)

The Green Party recognizes the importance of affordable housing, particularly in fast-growing communities where housing costs can escalate rapidly. We support the creation of a Canada Co-op Housing Strategy and financial support for non-profit housing organizations. The Green Party recognizes the need for sustainable development and we support investments in green infrastructure and renewable energy. We propose a permanent and dedicated federal public transit fund to ensure consistent and reliable funding for municipalities to develop and maintain public transit systems. The Green Party healthcare platform emphasizes a commitment to universal healthcare and expanding coverage to include crucial services such as...(edited to fit length restrictions)
Crime and public safety are top concerns of our businesses and residents. What are your thoughts on addressing these challenges in Cloverdale-Langley City? (100 words or less)?
The GPC advocates for a multifaceted approach to crime prevention that focuses on addressing the root causes of criminal behavior. This involves:
- investing in social programs such as education, affordable housing, mental health services, and addiction treatment.
- supporting policies aimed at reducing poverty such as increasing the minimum wage, expanding access to affordable housing, and providing a guaranteed livable income.
- promoting policies that create economic opportunities for all Canadians, particularly those in marginalized communities.
How will you support economic growth and opportunity for Cloverdale-Langley business owners, professionals, and families? (100 words or less)?
There is no question that small & medium size businesses are the backbone of our economy and provide resilience, diversification and stability within our communities. Large multinational corporations tend to be more volatile and demanding on government handouts. The GP will support small & medium size businesses by:
- Holding the small business tax rate at no more than 9%.
- Reducing the paperwork burden on small businesses by eliminating duplicate tax filings and red tape.
- Encourage the adoption of new technology by reducing bureaucracy and streamlining approvals.
- Promote entrepreneurship training and business support.
In closing, why should people vote for you? (100 words or less)?
The Liberals and the Conservatives have a solid track record of not delivering on issues such as the cost of living, healthcare and climate change. In addition, their historic policies and decisions have resulted in unaffordable housing, an increase in homelessness and the toxic drug tragedy. They have demonstrated, beyond any doubt, they do not have the solutions to reverse these trends. The Green Party of Canada is the only party that offers progressive, evidence-based solutions that will positively impact the lives of Canadians.
If progressive, evidence-based solutions and real action on climate change are important to you then vote...(edited to fit length restrictions)

I’m Vanessa Sharma, a proud Fijian-Nepali woman and long-time advocate for workers, mental health, and racial equity. A former resident of this riding, I’ve seen firsthand the struggles families face. With a background in activism, I’m committed to fighting for affordable housing, good-paying unionized jobs, and meaningful supports for our community.
What are your top two issues you’ll bring to Ottawa and fight for (100 words or less)?
I will fight for affordable housing and access to mental health care. Housing is personal for me—I had to leave Cloverdale-Langley City due to rising costs. I’ll advocate for stronger renter protections, affordable housing, and support for landlords when damages make units unlivable. Mental health care is also crucial. Losing my mother to suicide drives my commitment to making mental health support accessible to everyone, starting with expanded coverage under the Canada Health Act. Both issues are vital for the well-being and future of this growing community.
This riding borders two of BC’s fastest-growing communities. How will you work in Ottawa to ensure Cloverdale-Langley City gets the supports, investments, and infrastructure a fast-growing community needs? (100 words or less)
As someone who has experienced the challenges of living in a rapidly growing community, I understand the need for smart investments in infrastructure. I’ll advocate for federal funding to improve public transit, expand healthcare services, and upgrade schools to meet demand. I’ll also prioritize affordable housing developments and ensure local businesses benefit from federal infrastructure projects. Cloverdale-Langley City deserves a strong voice in Ottawa who will fight for its fair share of resources and investments. Collaboration with local leaders and residents will guide my work to ensure growth is sustainable and benefits everyone in the community.
Crime and public safety are top concerns of our businesses and residents. What are your thoughts on addressing these challenges in Cloverdale-Langley City? (100 words or less)
Public safety starts with strong community supports. I’ll advocate for funding to increase the presence of community-based policing and invest in programs that address the root causes of crime, such as addiction and poverty. Supporting local organizations that provide youth mentorship, mental health services, and affordable housing is key to prevention. I’ll also push for stricter regulations to prevent the trafficking of illegal firearms and ensure law enforcement has the resources to keep our streets safe while being accountable to the community. Safety must be balanced with fairness and equity to build trust and protect everyone in our riding.
How will you support economic growth and opportunity for Cloverdale-Langley business owners, professionals, and families? (100 words or less)
Economic growth in Cloverdale-Langley City starts with creating good-paying, unionized jobs and supporting small businesses. I’ll fight for tax breaks for local businesses that invest in the community, while pushing for funding to expand public transit and infrastructure projects that create jobs. I’ll also advocate for programs that support women- and minority-owned businesses, recognizing the diversity of our community. Families deserve affordable childcare, fair wages, and training opportunities for emerging industries like green energy. My goal is to ensure everyone in Cloverdale-Langley City—workers, business owners, and families—can thrive and contribute to a prosperous local economy.
In closing, why should people vote for you? (100 words or less)
I understand the challenges Cloverdale-Langley City families face because I’ve lived them myself. From struggling with housing affordability to advocating for mental health care after losing my mother, my experiences shape my passion for fighting for real change. I bring a proven track record of standing up for workers, racial equity, and mental health awareness. I’ll ensure our community gets the investments, support, and infrastructure it needs to thrive. With me as your MP, you’ll have a strong, compassionate voice in Ottawa who will always put our community first.
