About the Langley Business Excellence Awards
The Langley Business Excellence Awards are an initiative of the Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce and represent an opportunity to recognize, promote and celebrate the strength and diversity of the local business community in Langley City and Township.
Initially created as part of an economic development strategy, for over 25 years the LBEAs have served as one of the top business honours in Langley, and culminates each year with the Langley Business Excellence Awards Gala, a standout local business event!

Award Categories
Entrepreneurial Excellence Award
For a new business which has been in operation for at least 2 years and which has demonstrated outstanding success, innovation and entrepreneurialism in this new venture.
Environmental Leadership Award
For a Langley business or organization which has demonstrated a clear commitment to environmental sustainability in their operations by adopting actions and initiatives that reduce carbon emissions, pollution, or energy and materials consumption.
Charitable or Non-Profit Organization of the Year Award
For a Langley charitable or non-profit organization that has made an overall outstanding contribution to the Langley community and its citizens through its work, and in doing so has made Langley a better place to live, work and play.
Langley Community Spirit Award
For a Langley business that has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to corporate social responsibility and community involvement, and in doing so has consistently contributed to the wellbeing of Langley.
Employer of the Year Award
For a Langley business or organization that demonstrates employer excellence through practices that positively contribute to employee development and wellbeing, through policies that support diversity and inclusion, and through actions that support organization growth and employee recruitment and retention.
George Preston Memorial Business Person of the Year
For an individual business person who, as the business owner or senior executive, demonstrates outstanding leadership, success, vision and commitment, and in doing so is an outstanding role model for business excellence.
Business of the Year Award (Up to 24 employees)
For a Langley business employing up to 24 full-time employees that has demonstrated outstanding overall business success and made achievements in the areas of innovation, business growth and community involvement.
Business of the Year Award (25 or more Employees)
For a Langley business employing 25 or more full-time employees that has demonstrated outstanding overall business success and made achievements in the areas of innovation, business growth and community involvement.
Eligibility & Awards Criteria
- Nominees must have a business location within the Township of Langley or the City of Langley
- An organization or individual is ineligible to win the same award category more than once in three years
- A nominee may be named a finalist in no more than two categories
- Nominees will be required to submit a judging package for review by the Selection Committee and upon which the award recipients will be determined
- An award may not be issued for every category, depending on the applications received
- Active members of the Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors are ineligible to receive an award
The 2023 Langley Business Excellence Awards
The Langley business community celebrated its stars at the 2023 Langley Business Excellence Awards on October 26 at a gala event presented by the Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce and attended by nearly 400 business, community and government leaders.
