After another grinding rush hour on Highway 1, the Langley Chamber joined CBC Radio's On the Coast show to discuss Highway 1 traffic and its impact on people and businesses in Langley.

The Langley Chamber has lobbied and advocated for Highway 1 expansion for years, including replacing the 264th overpass to better serve Gloucester and finally bring transit service to that business district.  We're pleased to see the project finally moving forward, but continue to meet regularly with the expansion project team to get updates on construction, and to push for improvements to the project.  We also, working with our Fraser Valley Business Coalition partners, have fought for expanding the project scope, with additional vehicle lanes, better bus and cycling infrastructure, and a plan to expand the Highway to Chilliwack.

Highway 1 traffic delays workers getting to their jobs, delays truckers trying to get goods to market, and slows down services and tradespeople --- all zapping energy, momentum and money from our local economy.

Watch Langley Chamber's CEO speak to CBC Radio on the project and the importance of getting Highway 1 done:
